The Hotel Kurhaus FLÜHLI has stood in its place for a very long time. Surrounded by rugged peaks and nestled in its quaint village setting, this splendid monument of the Belle Époque represents a unique chapter in Swiss tourism history.
Its story stretches back centuries – to the early days of bath and mineral water cures in the idyllic Waldemmental. Once a humble inn named Zur Kreuzbuche, welcoming travelers on ancient trade routes, the property was transformed in 1899 by Leo Enzmann I into a grand spa resort. And with great success: thanks to its rare healing springs, the Kurhaus FLÜHLI soon gained fame far beyond the borders of Switzerland. Eventually, the thriving spa operation evolved into a magnificent hotel.

A look at old photographs reveals: the Kurhaus, built in classic Swiss architectural style with its imposing Bernese arched roof, has hardly changed on the outside.
